Industry Testimonials

Grenville Cartledge: Director of Operations, Sun Cruises

“It was a great pleasure working with Paul. His professionalism, motivation and enthusiasm in a crucial role proved an invaluable contribution during the challenging start-up period of a cruise line operation. Paul always led from the front and continued to demonstrate those same qualities during his time with the cruise ship. The subsequent success of the operation (the ship became a favourite with many people) was due, in no small part, to Paul and his team.”

Carol Papathanasiou: Director of Entertainment, Royal Olympic Cruises

“Paul is the epitome of a good Management of a varied team both age, nationality and ability. Paul was the one to isolate the top attribute in each team member and then build on this a tight, loyal team that achieved the objective set for them. Paul’s artistic talent and open character certainly never to be described as introvert!”

Patricia Piper: Senior Hostess, Royal Olympic Cruises

“Paul Becque, a fantastic Cruise Director and Human Being. There is nothing that Paul can’t do. He was the first Cruise Director that I knew that actually enjoyed his role as an entertainer and as a manager. He had great contact with people, and people instantly loved him. He was full of energy and positive attitude. As a manager, he was enthusiastic and motivating and the staff respected him. He managed to motivate us to go the extra mile and enjoy our jobs. I would recommend him any time. He knows there are no limits to what we can do in life and he’s doing it all to prove it. I wish him all the best in his wonderful life and career.”

Paul thoroughly engrossed himself in his work which meant our passengers got the best Cruise possible. He is a natural leader and helped train our team so we could work to the same high standards he worked to. Although he was the Senior role model in our department, he showed interest in our lives and gave us an opportunity to share in his which is a wonderful attribute to have.”

International Maestro of Merriment

As the Cruise Director, my role was akin to being the chief architect of amusement, ensuring that every guest had the adventure of a lifetime. From early morn’ until the stars claimed the night, I was curating a carnival of joy and laughter. Crafting the days with a mix of events, ensuring there was something for everyone – be it the thrill of a game show, the infectious rhythm of dance-offs, or the sheer delight of hitting the high notes during karaoke nights.

Curious about the best spots on the ship for a bit of relaxation, or perhaps eager for recommendations on the most exhilarating excursions once we docked? I was the man with the plan. With an amazing ensemble of talent at my fingertips – entertainers who could dazzle, musicians who charmed with their melodies, and dancers who moved with grace – I spearheaded a non-stop festival of entertainment.

Ultimately, my goal transcended beyond merely organising events; it was about weaving a tapestry of unforgettable memories, fostering a sense of community and joy among our guests. I took pride in knowing that as they stepped off the ship, they carried with them stories of laughter, friendship, and wonder – a testament to the magic we created together on the high seas.
